Hello everyone!

Holiday Event

Due to some interest, we are planning on running at least 1 event over the Easter holidays. Thus, for the people who are staying on campus over the holidays or happen to be in the surrounding area, we want to see who may be interested in attending, what sort of events you may want to do, and when you are available. In order to achieve this, we have put together a “Holiday Event Interest Form”.

If interested, please fill out the form by next Wednesday, midnight (18/03/20)

We will then look at the responses and subsequently announce when and what event(s) will take place - hopefully by next Friday (20/03/20).

However, it must be stressed that any event over the holiday period is provisional and is subject to the ever-changing situation relating to the current Covid-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak.

The Layout for Term 3 Events

Due to it being exam season, there will be limited events outside the weekly main Tuesday showings. Furthermore, during the Tuesday showings, instead of watching a main-series, each exec will pick 1 show per week which we will watch 3 episodes of. Afterwards, there will be a ‘’free-for-all’’ where we will watch 2 episodes of an anime voted for by the people in attendance. For this section, you are free to bring along any anime which you wish to get shown.

The term 3 timetable of events will be released sometime during the holidays.

The Covid-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak and how this will affect the Anime and Manga society going forward

We, as a society, will follow government and university guidelines. Thus, at the present time, any holiday event(s) and any term 3 event will still take place as normal. However, due to the ever-changing situation, this is subject to change. Whilst the potential closure of the university or the banning of public gatherings will be a hinderance, we, as a society, have a contingency plan to ensure that events going into term 3 will still occur in some capacity. If need be, the plan will be made public. In the meantime, however, any potential holiday event and term 3 showings will still take place as normal.

I hope people take care, stay safe, and have a wonderful Easter holiday!
