Hello everyone,
With the start of Term 1 quickly approaching we have a few announcements to make. The first of these key announcements is that you can now sign up to become a member of the society at https://www.warwicksu.com/societies-sports/societies/animeandmanga/ if you haven’t done so already! This will allow for you to borrow items from our physical library and will also give you an account on our website, https://animesoc.co.uk!
Apart from this we have 3 events this week:
Tuesday 24th September - Warwick Student Cinema are showing “My neighbour Totoro” from 19:30 in L3 (If you don’t know where that is, you can check it out on the interactive campus map (https://tinyurl.com/l3campusmap)) - If you are a member of our society and you go, tell them and they will be giving a discounted price (£3.50 instead of £4). Thank them a bunch!
Wednesday 25th September - We have our first showing! We will be showing “Koe no Katachi” from 18:00 in MS.02 (https://tinyurl.com/ms02campusmap ). If you have signed up already on Warwick welcome week, thank you and we look forward to seeing you! It’s free to come and there will be time at the end to meet other members if you wish.
Saturday 28th September - We have our second showing! Once again this is in MS.02 from 18:00 (https://tinyurl.com/ms02campusmap ). We will be showing Satoshi Kon’s “Millennium Actress” and Studio Ghibli’s “The Cat Returns”; both of which are lesser known works of the respective artists / studios but are well worth a watch. Feel free to join us.
That’s all the announcements this week however coming up we have our first weekly showing on Tuesday 1st October in MS.05 (top floor of the Zeeman building) where we will vote on what we show as the main series. There will be more events announced in the coming few days so make sure to keep up to date! We have a Discord server where we announce events (Can be joined at https://animesoc.co.uk/discord), and we also have a Facebook account (https://www.facebook.com/groups/warwickanimesoc/) and if you’re a member you will get email announcements.
