Thanks to those of you who came to see us at the societies fair on Tuesday, it was great to meet so many of you who were interested in our society and in Anime and Manga in general. This is just a quick update about what events we’ll be running to open the year with more information about each of the individual events closer to them:
Our first event of the year will be our first weekly screening starting at 6:30pm on Tuesday in MS.05 in the maths department (for those of you who don’t know where this is you can find it on warwick interactive map at https://warwick.ac.uk/about/visiting/maps/interactive/, however as long as you can make your way to the maths department there will be someone to show you the way to the room). We’ll start with a general introduction to the society, followed by the first episodes of Haikyuu!!, Akagami no Shirayuki-hime and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun with breaks between each to give you a chance to socialise and meet the members of the society before finishing with a vote on which of these we should watch the remainder of over the rest of the first term.
The second event we’ll be running will be a movie night starting at 7pm on Saturday of Week 1 (06/10) in B2.02 on the science concourse opposite the library (again can be found on the interactive map as B2.02 Chemistry, Second Floor). We’ll being showing a selection of anime films with time to socialise and most likely a food order at some point.
On Wednesday of Week 2 we’ll be meeting up on campus and heading over to Coventry for a meal at Shin Ramen, signups for this will open on Tuesday evening so look out for that if you’re interested in coming along and trying some great Japanese food.
Looking further in to the future we’ll have more of the above as well as a variety of other events such as Karaoke sessions and All Nighters. Finally we’ll be heading down to London for MCM Comic Con on the 27th of October and there’ll be a full plan for that coming out in the next few days giving you all the details and telling you what you need to buy if you’d like to join us for that.
