Hope you’ve all had a great week and, for those who have it, are looking forward to a free week off reading week! This week we have a bunch of new events and, in case weren’t aware, we also launched a new Instagram page which you can find at the bottom of this announcement!
Main Series Showings
Our term-long showing of Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor will continue this Tuesday at the typical time of 19:00 in MS01. This week we will be watching episodes 14-16. If you missed last week’s episodes do catch up, as we’ll be continuing with the series until its completion in week 10.

Macross Frontier Concert Livestream

Friday Night Fighting Gaming Social
Gigi, the librarian, has come up with a new event for you, the members. If you are interested in fighting games, he will host a Melty Blood (as well as other fighting games) session in S0.52, this Friday from 5pm-9pm. Make sure you bring your laptops and controllers for multiple matches. You will be required to install Melty Blood Community Edition as well as it is an improvement to the Steam port, which you can download at the Reddit link below:

Member’s Choice Night
This Saturday, from 17:00 onwards, we’ll be holding our first in-person Members’ Choice Night in MS02! Members Choice operates in a similar fashion to the ‘All Nighter’; Members (as in those who have purchased SU Society Membership for the current academic year) will have the opportunity to bring their own anime, either on a USB, external HDD or DVD/Blu-ray and nominate their favourite for a showing.
Nominators will then pitch their shows to the audience, with majoritarian vote ultimately deciding which show to watch. After two episodes, we will then re-open voting for a new show. Whilst only Members are able to nominate a show, anyone in attendance will be able to vote. If you’re planning on nominating a show – make sure to bring it with you as we won’t be able to download or stream it on the day!
