The ImproManga: Where to find it, and how it affects you

Postby SohoLoh » Wed Sep 28, 2005 10:19 am

For those of you new to our wonderful society: Welcome to the exquisite delight that is ImproManga!

Since the ImproManga page doesn't seem to be available just yet (at least, to me) I shall say a few words about it.

The ImproManga is an ongoing project, where hopefuls sign up for a slot and have two weeks to add some more pages to an existing manga story. You can draw anything you like, as long as you remain within the existing cast of characters and settings.

You could use your time to send the story down new and unexpected paths -- and sometimes this is good -- but don't forget, that developing the existing storyline might prove more rewarding for everyone involved.

And there's no real reason why you shouldn't sign up for a slot. We welcome any level of skill. Or you could form a team and maybe be the next CLAMP.

Or, if you just want to read it (which was actually my main motivation to making this post), just go here: http://www.animesoc.co.uk/Forum/album_cat.php?cat_id=4

I'd just like add two things to the above:

1) The ImproManga page is working again (see http://www.animesoc.co.uk/art_media/impromanga)

2) It's arguably still my turn to produce for the ImproManga,, sorry. How long do you suppose I have until the next slot it assigned? You see I've sketched the plot I want to communicate, and I've just about finished my current (important) projects here at home.

At the very least you have until Tuesday, as that's the first showing. It'd be nice to give someone new the chance to contribute, but if no one steps forward you can keep going until you're done.

Bear in mind that you're posting in a thread that was last active in September 2005.

Guessing by the fact the latest post (Other than this one) is from about 2007....

I think your best bet would be to ask some of the older members about this, such as Bucko ect,

Depends on your definition of 'running'. I mean, we haven't deleted the files or thrown away the paper copy. If you want to draw some pages, scan them, and add them to the impromanga, be our guest.

However, at present you will be the only participant; you can tell from the state of this forum that no-one has been interested in the impromanga for a few years now.

Owh, so nobody's been adding pages since 2007/8 then... What a shame.

From what I understand the impromanga sitting on my desk is "the second impromanga", scans of it should be here. Seems it was mostly done on the quiet as I've not found much posted about it.

Once I'm less busy (or if someone else fancies it) these will be amde good and put on the site. I guess then people can have a look through and see if they want to continue this story or start a new one (on the basis that the original one is very old and was full of "OMG keep to the character profile, character X would so not do that!")
